Playing With Clay
A sensory experince as we feel the clay through our fingertips and come to understand the nature of how we can form structure with this earthy material.
Participants wil lbe guided in the creation of a coiled pot or bowl or open to experiment and just play with clay.

The Details - Nitty Gritty
When/Timing - 3 hrs ... 2pm to 5pm - 16th January (optional follow up 23rd January)
Materials included - clay, slip, textured materials and scultping tools
What to wear - comfortable clothes that you dont mind getting clay on :)
Price - Session 1 = $145
Firing is included.
Ceramics pick up time. - 2 weeks after the workshop or after the follow up glazing session.
Options - we can apply coloured slip before bisque friing or you may return in a drop in session to paint your work yourself prior to firing or you may prefer to leave clay raw.
Part 1 - Utilising found opbjects to create textures in clay combined with hand building and sculpting. This is a beautiful hands on sensory playing with clay experience. We will make a small hand built bowl or mug and a textured platter or tile. Each participant will have 2 pieces to take home.
This is a 3 hour workshop. 2pm - 5pm
All materials provided.
Please wear old clothes that you don't mind getting clay on or an apron or both :)
Class size - up to 4 people
Part 2 - Option to return for follow up session if you would like to paint and glaze what you have made before the firing and collection of creations. Part 2 of Playing with Clay - Return ceramics painting class. $55 - Book together with Part 1
Please note - if you are happy for raw unpainted clay and do not wish to return for the Part 2 session we will fire your creations as is (which is absolutely fine). Contact us if you would like more details about this.
